The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights clarifies the responsibilities of government and businesses about human rights.
It established that:
PROTECT - State have the Duty to protect;
RESPECT - Corporations have the duty to respect;
REMEDY - State and Businesses have the joint responsibility to provide victims with access to effective remedy.
