Catherine Benoît Norris, PhD

Catherine is a world-leading expert on Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA), a combined quantitative/qualitative system for assessing, prioritizing, and improving working conditions in global supply chains. She edited the world’s first guidelines on this topic and its 2020 update and co-created the world’s first database to enable its practice (the Social Hotspots Database). She has trained thousands of professionals in the application of these methods. She enjoys working collaboratively in teams and multi-stakeholder, multi-cultural settings to pursue her professional goal of bringing about supply chains that truly care for the workers and families and communities on which they rely. Catherine directed the Social Hotspots Database project at NewEarth B and led the consulting and training services offering until April 2020. Catherine taught about social responsibility in product supply chains at Harvard Extension school. She has a PhD in Business administration from University of Quebec at Montreal.
